- Use five (5) of the new words from the two articles and write a LEAD paragraph for an imagined story.
- You can change or alter the tense of the words.
- Use your "I Say" connections to help you develop a story idea.
- The lead paragraph must at least answer the: who, what, when, where questions. The paragraph must have at least one simple, compound, and complex sentence.
- Use words that SOUND like the tone of the paragraph, for example: "The snow fell from the sky," sounds less exciting and vivid than, "The sticky, wet snow plunged from the sky"; "He has a nice smile, sound less exciting and vivid than, "He has an exotic, sexy smile."
- Create an EXCITING SOUNDING headline.
